How do I join?
Anyone with enough interest and skill can become a member of the
Caudium group. If you are previously known to us and have shown
that you know enough to join, just let us know that you're
interested. Otherwise we advise that you either send us patches,
new modules, new documentation or other related
things; i.e. show us that you have something to contribute to
the project.
What does it mean?
The primary benefit of joining us is read/write access to the
project as well as certain administrative rights on our
SourceForge project page. You will hopefully also play a larger
part in the decision making process. Finally you will get a fancy
you@caudium.net and you@caudium.org email address.
What kind of help are you looking for?
Just about anyone who want to contribute is welcome. Here is a
list of skills that would help the project:
Programmers
Considering that Caudium is a server written in Pike, one
might think we only need Pike programmers. That, however, is not the
case. We want to include support for various embedded languages
and therefore skills in these languages would be nice (if
nothing else but to write test cases). Examples of such
languages are: Perl, Python, Scheme, other LISP
dialects. C programmers are also welcome. We would like to
make an easy API for writing actual Caudium modules in C
(among other things).
Technical writers
We need documentation. LOTS of documentation. If you can
write it, we want you. See the main
contribution page for more detailed information
about the documentation we need.
Web developers
If you know Roxen / Caudium, RXML, and maybe some Pike and
want to work on our web site, let us know.
You tell us
Think that you can help in other ways? Please let us know!
